09 Sep 2026

For the purpose of studying Tropical Viral infections like Dengue This is the best place.

“Sri Lanka has overcome many vector borne infections thanks to it strong public health system. However, Dengue remains an important infection with yearly morbidity and mortality adding to the burden of inward care. Dengue burden is mainly in the Western province of the country. In 2023, island nation experienced a significant dengue burden with 89,799 suspected cases reported throughout the year, showing an unusual pattern of continuous outbreak-level transmission. This was attributed toellerence of the DENV-3 serotype. In other years dengue is seasonal in the monsoon months. In 2017, a tetravalent dengue vaccine, TAK-003 was trialed in a phase 3 efficacy trial in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka offers a good opportunity to learn the clinical management and gives research opportunities on dengue”
